Flowering Love

Flowering Love

1
Emily Bronte how delighted I am
To discover for once love isn’t a sham
Though how this can be I cannot explain
For to argue with time is a difficult terrain
Yet life is a mystery designed to confuse
With love a mere something to nurture or lose
Like surfing on waves as a storm gathers pace
With elation the treasure one hopes to embrace

Does it matter if my mistress comes from a previous age?
Provided her target and lover is on the same page
So being together occasionally thanks to kind time
Bending the rules so love flowers still in its prime

2
Emil Bronte you leave me amazed
To travel so far from a previous age
Like rocking the boat in the eye of a storm
When time indicates it’s about to deform
Or Moses surrendering to the Red Sea
Creating a pathway for those who believe
Awaiting the right moment to navigate
The throng in accord to ubiquitous fate

Does it matter if my mistress comes from a previous age?
Provided her target and lover is on the same page
So being together occasionally thanks to kind time
Bending the rules so love flowers still in its prime

3
Emily Bronte, how strange is the world
To follow the sun yet live under a cloud
Regardless of this the soft wings of a dove
Mock the cruel clock in pursuit of true love
Well out of reach of the mightiest of waves
Or the bat that delights in the darkness of caves
Prisoners of time without a clear hope
Save for the few too good for this rope

Does it matter if my mistress comes from a previous age?
Provided her target and lover is on the same page
So being together occasionally thanks to kind time
Bending the rules so love flowers still in its prime

4
Emily Bronte, you play hard to get
And when it’s all over I’m still in your debt
Yet if a brave baby is born in your age
Logic and truth will be hard to engage
A child conceived from the future let’s say
Back in the past that emerges one day
To pass on some genes befitting of mine
Before it is time for them to entwine
And generate traits destined for me
Despite such a baby not ready to be

Does it matter if my mistress comes from a previous age?
Provided her target and lover is on the same page
So being together occasionally thanks to kind time
Bending the rules so love flowers still in its prime
Oh Emily Bronte you remain in my arms no matter what
For true love is more powerful than anything fate has got

The End

  1. Well Emily Bronte, I know you like poetry, so I am hoping you will like my song lyrics. I can't wait for you to visit me again! Love from Frankie.

  2. I have ended up re-writing this song/poem so I will try to edit it soon if I can hit upon the correct method for doing this. Otherwise I will have to delete it and then post the edited version. The life of a writer I'm afraid. Forever editing until you get an item close to perfection. Well at least this is how it works with me. Regards to my absent friends who clearly know nothing about this blog of mine and I am not even confident they would want it otherwise! This is also the life of most writers I'm afraid. You live in hope and I am an eternal optimist. One day, one day!
