Ubiquitous Love
1
Miss Emily Bronte how delighted I
am
To discover for once love isn’t a
sham
The mystery of which I cannot
explain
As the texture of this is a rocky
terrain
While life is a journey meant to
confuse
With faith its companion so easy
to lose
It’s left for the waves to frolic
with space
And speak of elation’s climatic
embrace
The beginning of life is a spark
of a kind
Or a spring in a clock designed
to unwind
Announcing the start of a
heavenly stairway
Connecting the sky with the house
where I stay
Including the chamber where
passion holds sway
2
Miss Emil Bronte you leave me
amazed
Embracing the future from a
previous age
Surrounded by clouds in the eye
of a storm
As thunder and lightning help
time to deform
With echoes of Moses when at the
Red Sea
He convinces his people it’s time
to believe
For the Lord of creation is about
to create
A highway dividing the blue ocean
of late
The beginning of life is a spark
of a kind
Or a spring in a clock designed
to unwind
Announcing the start of a
heavenly stairway
Connecting the sky with the house
where I stay
Including the chamber where
passion holds sway

Miss Emily Bronte, what a weird
world
To follow the sun yet live under
a cloud
While high in the sky the flight of
a dove
Pays homage to heaven in honour
of love
A realm far away yet similar to
ours
Minus the chaos of the Twin Towers
Where prisoners of time cling
onto hope
Wishing deep down for a more secure
rope
The beginning of life is a spark
of a kind
Or a spring in a clock designed
to unwind
Announcing the start of a
heavenly stairway
Connecting the sky with the house
where I stay
Including the chamber where
passion holds sway

Miss Emily Bronte words cannot express
The joy that you bring me with every
caress
But should you bear child in an
era now past
Then consider how long confession
might last
And what a strange child for us
to conceive
To be born in a year much earlier
than me
Yet with the genes that seem to
be mine
Along with a sum to test even Einstein
The beginning of life is a spark
of a kind
Or a spring in a clock designed
to unwind
Announcing the start of a
heavenly stairway
Connecting the sky with the house
where I stay
Including the chamber where
passion holds sway
What a miracle of nature to enliven
a bloom
And allow Emily Bronte to be in my
room
Defying for once the shadow of doom
Enabling real joy to overtake gloom
And life to begin inside a womb
Creating genes belonging to me
Due for arrival in a bygone century
A trifle confusing yet still
meant to be
For those with the faith to truly
believe
In ubiquitous love like Miss Emily
Bronte
Who resulting from faith in God high above
Found time was a gauntlet to wear
like a glove
The End

Revised the last but one line. No great difference but one that I believe to be grammatically superior.
ReplyDeletePlease take note of some of the subtle aspects of this song such as its visual appearance or shape and the way the line structure revolves around numbers to do with calendar time. This was never my original intention when writing this song/poem but just kind of happened due to a combination of chance and observation of chance. The two form an interesting partnership don't you think?
